Kouzon has established a system of recruiting that involves the following Key Stages:

- Presentation (i.e., Personal Interview with a representative of the shipping company – Hiring Manager) All interested Candidates are encouraged to apply at any time as applications are open throughout the year. Applications can be done through following Two (2) options:

Induction Presentation
- The preliminary interview,
- The interview with the Hiring Managers of the shipping company(ies)
- The scope & expectation around the actual work while onboard the ship including; the job position(s), expected salaries while onboard, the hierarchical arrangement in the performance of work tasks
- What it is like to live and work onboard a luxury ship
- What are the shipping company’s expectations and their requirements
- How motivated are you to start?
- Is the program you’re interested in applying for the right program for you?

Preliminary Interview
The Preliminary Interview is done during the application process and aims to check the prior knowledge and qualifications of each applicant who has a desire to work for a certain position.
The Preliminary Interview considers all aspects essential for the selection process, such as:
- Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge of Languages
- Body Language
- Appearance & Demeanor
NOTE: This interview is important and should be approached with seriousness and professionalism.
It is at this stage that a Kouzon recruiter will determine the position for which an applicant will be most likely be approved to apply for work on a ship.
If you are not qualified for the position you want to apply for, you will be given recommendations on how (and in what) to improve your knowledge and you will be invited to apply again for the same or another position.
After receiving a Letter of Offer, you proceed to the last step, TRAINING.
Training
- Organizing documents for the main interview with representatives from the shipping company, the way and format for preparing a professional CV, the form of recommendations, etc…
- Acquaintance with international standards in the field of Hospitality, with an emphasis on “Customer Service”
- Processing topics and content in English in these areas and preparing the applicant for an interview with a potential employer
- TEST – to determine the level of mastered training material from the area being applied for
After the completed training – repeated preliminary interviews will follow to monitor the progress of the applicants. ONLY those who are 100% ready to present themselves to potential employers will be invited for the final stage the Main Interview with Shipping Company Hiring Representative(s).
Main Interview
NOTE: Only representatives of the shipping companies (and no one else) can promise or assign a job position that the candidate will get for working at a specific shipping company.
IMPORTANT: Never and under no circumstances, can Kouzon and / or any of Kouzon’ s employees promise to send an applicant to work without passing an interview with a representative of the shipping company. ALL Job Position(s) in which the applicant may work MUST be approved and assigned by the hiring representative of the shipping company.
It will be organized in Nairobi (most of the time) where each selected candidate presents his knowledge and desire to work on a ship through a personal interview with the hiring managers of the shipping company(ies), highlights his vision for building a career and acquiring new knowledge.
Only the Shipping Company’s hiring manager has the authorization to assign a job position and approve a candidate’s employment for that shipping company.
IMPORTANT – Kouzon is the official representative of several shipping companies, and the established rules are in accordance with the employment processes approved by these shipping companies.
